Review

Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s “Lost” is a slow paced thriller that starts out with an interesting & promising premise but almost loses itself amidst several distractions.
The investigative journalism plot could’ve been used so much better as it had immense potential. The film unfailingly captures the essence & vibe of Kolkata city very well.

Yami Gautam Instagram

Yami Gautam carries the entire movie and gives an impressive performance. Pankaj Kapoor plays a pivotal role & his interactions with Yami are a treat.
Rahul Khanna & Tia Bajpiee played their parts well while Tushar Pandey felt underutilised. Shantanu Moitra’s music & songs keep things interesting & soothing.

The dialogues and embedded foreshadowing & easter eggs are a delight. However, the editing felt inconsistent. Numerous distracting subplots & a certain incoherence in the middle hamper the experience. A rushed climax doesn’t help either.

Overall, Lost is a mediocre thriller with a few standout scenes. Although Yami Gautam performed an excellent job, the movie lost focus due to the inclusion of pointless scenes. Even though Lost isn’t a poor movie by any means, its inconsistent narrative makes it a passable weekend entertainment.

The film is an interesting watch but also feels like a missed opportunity.
