Kirit Somaiya, a chartered accountant by trade, entered politics in 1975 amid the student activism movement. Somaiya joined the BJP after taking part in the Jayaprakash Narayan movement. Political Career
On September 1st, 2016, he assumed leadership of the Standing Committee on Labour.
