Ant-Man And The Wasp Quantumania

Besides all the Quantum realm mumbo jumbo, this film has brought nothing new to the table and it’s just another forgettable inclusion to the MCU. A passable film at the least.

Plot Summery:

Exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with weird new animals, and going on an adventure that tests their preconceived notions of what is possible, Ant-Man and the Wasp find themselves.

What Worked?

Most of the time, the screenplay was entertaining. Indeed, the first act felt absurd and was silly. Yeah, it wasn’t new or very original, but it wasn’t as horrible as the detractors said. Quantumania has a few compelling side missions in addition to the main objective. Paul was excellent as always and adds a charm that is both humorous and goofy in a good manner to the character. The other characters didn’t really stand out.

The occasional use of lighthearted humour was effective. It was hit or miss, but fortunately, most of them were saved by Paul’s expression. It’s also depressing that the movie’s humour is one of its highlights. But, to be quite honest, I’m not sure if the film had anything notable. Perhaps because I had no expectations going in, I wasn’t overly disappointed? Not at all like the previous films in the series, it wasn’t intolerable. And only because they made an effort to accomplish something good in the quantum realm, no matter how unlikely or ludicrous it may have seemed, was that made feasible.

What Didn’t Work?

The film’s formulaic structure The writer (who created Rick and Morty) was unable to come up with anything grand or exceptional to amaze us, despite having a million creative concepts they could have developed using the Quantum universe. The movie’s staging is incredibly predictable. There were a few unexpectedly exciting moments, such as when Scotts obtains the engine core object, but the father-daughter antics rapidly overshadowed those moments.
It felt too convenient in the end. The world-building wasn’t compelling or deep enough for the audience to support the Quantum people.

plastic-like texture. The movie is shot on green screen for 99.5% of the time, which is not always a bad thing. But nothing seems authentic.
There is a lot of CGI, and you can’t always get away with saying “That’s quantum realm” when you can’t explain why something is happening. The feelings barely registered. They abused the Father-Daughter trope to the point that it became somewhat cheesy. Perhaps because Cassie is an adult and we did not witness the real-world bonding that would have allowed us to sense any sort of relationship between these two characters. Also, the actress switch didn’t help.

What Worked In Parts?

The conflict and the action. Nowadays, CGI can be used to create almost anything, and despite the fact that they appear real and amazing on screen, there is no captivating story to support the visual splendour. While some of the action scenes were excellent, others were incredibly silly and mindless. But because this is a superhero film, you really can’t pick on such details, can you?

What Didn’t Worked In Parts?

Kang is thought to be the MCU’s Thanos of the future. Yet, where is the evil? In order for Scott to have a heroic moment, he is depicted as a ferocious, unstoppable force one minute and then transformed into just another clown the next. Although Kang’s powers are not even close to those of Thanos, I was rather satisfied with them. He suddenly loses the ability to fight Antman and his army of ants in the last act, which felt ridiculous and very typical. His exact abilities are still unknown to us, which may be why he appeared to be so frail. We will have to wait longer, I suppose. The terrible part is that there is no longer anything exciting to anticipate in this franchise.

What Could’ve Worked?

Slight spoilers ahead I truly supported Kang. In the last scene, I wanted him to triumphantly flee, leaving the heroes feeling defeated, much like they did at the conclusion of Infinity War. Because doing so would have implied that the authors were giving the villain a chance to demonstrate his ruthlessness and placing a great deal of focus on Kang’s persona in order to create a compelling enemy. When the real film, which was supposed to be a vehicle for the villain to shine, was such a letdown, the 10 second post credit meant nothing. The heroes always triumph in superhero movies, so perhaps they should think about breaking the mould in order to stand out.

Verdict:

Nothing new is added to the franchise, which is currently on the verge of extinction, in Antman’s third installment. For it to be considered a decent movie, it is too predictable and formulaic.
Even yet, it wasn’t really a waste of time to see it. It is merely an addition to the already-crowded franchise, which essentially ended with Endgame.
