Ranveer Singh has found strong backing from his fans after Rishab Shetty recently reiterated his discomfort over the actor’s mimicry of the Kantara: Chapter One Daiva sequence. The controversy dates back to the closing ceremony of the 2025 International Film Festival of India (IFFI), where Ranveer attempted a tribute to Rishab’s iconic performance on stage—an act that quickly drew criticism online. Ranveer later issued an apology, calling it a mistake.

However, Rishab’s fresh remarks during a recent appearance in Chennai have reignited the debate. Emphasising that the Daiva element is sacred and emotionally significant, he said such portrayals make him uncomfortable and urged people not to perform or mock it publicly. While many agreed with his stance on cultural sensitivity, Ranveer’s fans felt the issue had already been addressed and did not need to be revisited.
Social media reactions soon followed, with some fans accusing Rishab of dragging the matter unnecessarily. One viral comment read, “If Daiva was angry about Ranveer Singh mimicking it, why did it make #Dhurandhar a huge hit?” Dhurandhar has indeed emerged as a massive box-office success, crossing ₹600 crore worldwide in just 11 days and setting new records for second-weekend collections. The debate continues to divide opinions, highlighting the thin line between tribute, performance, and cultural reverence in cinema.
