Vani Jayaram, a legendary singer who sang over 10,000 songs in 19 languages, passed away today in Chennai.
She was 77 years old and had her own apartment in the city. She had no children and her husband passed away.
On Saturday, the singer’s maid arrived at work as normal.
She kept pressing the calling bell, but she never received an answer.
She immediately notified the singer’s family, who then called the police.
Police forced open the door and discovered Vani Jayaram deceased in the sight of her family members.
